One of my blankets has made it's debut.

Well it's one of the baby blankets that I have made making it's way into the world. Kimberly was nice enough to take a picture of Carly (not sure if I spelled that right) in the blanket. Isn't she precious, oh and the blanket is such a beauty *giggle*.

Melissa's (my stoopid seester) scarf...

My sister knows how to crochet, however, she sucks at it. Soooo, she has asked me to make a scarf for her. I have made up this pattern very simple and very pretty, it looks like textured stripes. Any ways here is a pic of the scarf. To all of you readers, if we have any, let me know what you think.

It's Funshine Bear!!!

Ok ya'll sorry it took me so long to post new pics up, but I have been one busy little bugger. I have made a Funshine Care Bear for one of my neices, and only 3 more to go. Goodness it was hard, to do one, but now that I have done it, I know it's gonna go a lot easier and faster for the next ones. Good thing my nieces don't come to visit til' January, it gives me a bit more time. Well attached are pics of the Care Bear, now remember it's not perfect and my first one, but I think it came out pretty KICK ASS!!!!!!

I hope you guys like it, let me know what ya'll think.

Yes, we're still here

I'm sure some of you are wondering what happened to us, well yes, we're still here.

As for me, I've had to put all my lovely little baby blankets on hold to make afghans for my Christmas presents this year. As of yesterday, I finished the last of the planned afghans and started to wash them before taking pictures and getting ready to wrap them. As soon as thats done I'll post the work here... there are five in total (right now, of course, masochist that I am I'm considering trying to squeeze in three or so more before the big Yule day hits).

Here's a question for all your yarn lovers out there... one of the afghans I made used an angora mix yarn... it sheds worse than a long haired dog in the summer, when I washed it I made it worse... any tips for me? Its for a woman who is incredibly careful with her home and I worry she won't want to use this since it leaves white angora everywhere its been!

As for The Knit Wit Booger, she's been working on Christmas presents too, and even I can't wait to see them, maybe if we ask her nicely she post pictures of the work in progress... ready, here we go... PLEASE BOOGIE!!!

The babies I had previously been working for will all be making their much anticipated appearances in January and February so I need to get cracking on those again and I promise pictures as they're completed.

Well, keep checking back to see when those blankets I made are posted, I hope to get to it this weekend (but the holiday crunch is fast upon us and I can't promise anything). In the mean time I wish all of you enjoy your winter celebrations!

Just Checking In

Hey ya'll!

I promise I haven't forgotten about you, and I promise I have been knitting and crocheting... I just haven't completed any projects to show you!

Currently, I'm working on a blue "patches" blanket for Baby B, and I was working on a blue and white terry cloth blanket for Baby G but I've kind of lost interest. I gotta figure out what I'm making soon or else Baby G will come and I won't be prepared with my gifts!!

So, really, thats all... The Baby B blanket is almost done, I'll post a picture for you all as soon as it is.

Take care!

Baby Andrea's Pumpkin Bag...

Well since Andrea was just born in January, oh Andrea is my niece in Texas by the way, I figured she wouldn't enjoy Halloween like all the other kids would, but my mother insisted that I make her a Halloween bag, so I did, and here it is, it is smaller but she won't eat a lot of candy and the other one that I made before is going to be for Chelsea her sister and my other niece, I hope they like them...

Happy Halloween, well sort of....

Well I started it on Friday the 21st of September and finished it last night the 26th of September so it's not very hard to do, I did modify the pattern that I found a little bit to suit me, but very little, so here are pictures of the first one I have made, I am going to try and make 3 more before Halloween for my nieces around the nation and send it off to them.

As promised...

Here is the hat I have made for KG and her baby girl. It's a basic pink hat with a ribbon running through the brim and a cute little flower right smack in the middle, it's a set that will go with the mitties and booties I made earlier. Next stop are gonna be some Halloween projects, wish me luck...

Remember the Baby R Work?

Well, here is Baby R nestled in the first blanket I made for him (before I knew the nursery colour scheme). I didn't get a picture of this blanket since I had wrapped it some time before the baby shower to protect it from cat and dog hair in my house.

He is so freaking cute...

Finally! My blanket...

So I have no more blankets to make at the moment so I am gonna work on my own, it's a homespun yarn, purple and like a mustard yellow and I am knitting it speed stix style. Here it is so far just a first look preview, I will keep the pics updated as I work on it.

Yet another baby blanket....

Now that I am becoming an expert speed knitter, (Yeah Right!) here is the second blanket that I made for a dear friend, Kimberly, who is giving birth to a baby girl. I wanted to make it extra girly so I added a ribbon and bow at the bottom of the blanket. I have no new babies to make blankets for so I might start working on my own, or just a few patterns I have laying around. I also wanted to pick up embroidery again so I might just get a starter kit on that and work on it a bit. Well here are pics of the newest blanket.

My First Baby Blanket......

This is my first baby blanket, I started to crochet a blanket but noticed it would take to long so my best friend Boobie introduced me to speed knitting and Voila! I tried and made this beautiful baby blanket for a co worker and friend that just had her first baby and it's a boy. I am not as good as others when it comes to knitting but hey I am a beginner. Here are a few pics of the blanket.

The Baby L Blanket

A friend and his wife are expecting their second child. They have decided that, as they did with their first, (a BEAUTIFUL daughter) they would prefer not to learn the sex of the baby and have a lovely surprise come delivery time.

As soon as I heard the good news (since we had been sharing comfort to each other as we both tried) I started looking for patterns for the baby blanket I wanted to make for them.

I found this one , its not that hard and with a few modifications I made, I finished it a week or so ago. Since I had yarn left over, I started trying my hand at baby mitties... maybe booties next.

These pictures were taken with my cell phone so I know they're not the best quality, but you can still see the projects pretty clearly... Now I'm working on blue blankets for two different friends who are having boys and the second mittie for this :)

The blanket is worked in panels, here you see the first three panels joined together:

Here are more panels joined together as Mango holds it up for me. This is about three or so panels from completion:

My first attempt at a mittie, I think it looks really cute... of course its made to match the blanket :)

And finally, the two together...

There you have it... hope you liked them. I'll have to take more detailed pictures with the camera before I wrap this up to be presented to the parents :)

Craziness with a Hat

I taught myself to crochet hats one weekend. Teeny tiny baby hats. Then I got punchy and put them on the pets... and us... and hilarity ensued...

Sorry for the quality, but these were taken on the cell phone:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So it looks like Izzy gets special treatment since her picture was taken with the real camera, but in reality she had just escaped my wrath for like a week!
