Basket Weave Sleep Sack and Hat

My neighbor wanted me to make a sleep sack or swaddler for her baby and a matching hat.  So I looked endlessly online for a pattern that I liked and found one for a basket weave, so of course I thought, how cute a baby in a basket.  I made Captain (Yes his real name) his very own sack and matching hat in green with a white curly q on top of the hat.  Captain's momma has asked if I could add ear flaps, so I will add those as soon as I can, and even make her a few more hats as she said Captain has none that fit him just right.  I love my fat turd so much I will do anything for him, here he is sporting his hat.  I will get pics of him in his sack as soon as I can.

Julie’s Blanket

Well heck, I’ve shared the blankets I made for friends, but not my own daughter!  We were blessed with our second child 12/26/11 and here is her blanket (inadvertently, the largest baby blanket I’ve made to date!)

Unfortunately, I no longer have the pattern I followed but it was a freebie out there on the net.

Baby Chance’s Sea Menagerie

My very dear friends are expecting their first child within the next few weeks.  It’s a boy and they’re naming him Chance.  His bedroom is a beautiful ocean scene and I created the following to welcome him to his wonderful family.

As usual, I’m a terrible blogger and forgot to take any nice pictures of final projects before packing them up and shipping them out… maybe if I ask nicely, Chance’s parents will take a photo or two for me with them in his gorgeous nursery.  Fortunately, I have a quick cell phone shot of each gift I took as I worked on or completed each piece.

First, is his ocean waves blanket:

I followed this pattern, but left off the fringe as I felt it would be a bit hazardous for an infant.

Then, a lovely stuffed star fish:

I followed this pattern, but left off the face as to minimize any choking hazards.

A cutie patootie octopus:

Again, I left the eyes off this pattern as well.

Finally a big soft whale:

To give you an idea of scale, my laptop is 17 inches.  I worked this from this pattern, using the notes on this blog to decipher it, as its in Japanese.

All of these were so much fun to make and Celeste has requested one of each for herself, I think I’ll just have to get cracking on them for her Smile

Duct Tape Wallet

Yep I attempted to make a Duct Tape Wallet and it was a success it is Dragon themed of course.  It has 6 pockets for cards, bi-fold and a secret pocket as well.  It came out really cute and it was fun to make, spending time with Cheyenne.

Here are some pics.....

Ella’s Blanket

I made this almost a year ago and I’m finally getting around to sharing.  I’m a terrible blogger!

The color scheme for Ella’s room is brown and pink and her blanket started out in panels like this:

I felt no love for this pattern and ended up putting it on the back burner for months at a time until I rethought the whole thing and started over focusing much more on the pink and a more exciting pattern.

In the end, I made this blanket in three days and adored it:
