Baby Chance’s Sea Menagerie

My very dear friends are expecting their first child within the next few weeks.  It’s a boy and they’re naming him Chance.  His bedroom is a beautiful ocean scene and I created the following to welcome him to his wonderful family.

As usual, I’m a terrible blogger and forgot to take any nice pictures of final projects before packing them up and shipping them out… maybe if I ask nicely, Chance’s parents will take a photo or two for me with them in his gorgeous nursery.  Fortunately, I have a quick cell phone shot of each gift I took as I worked on or completed each piece.

First, is his ocean waves blanket:

I followed this pattern, but left off the fringe as I felt it would be a bit hazardous for an infant.

Then, a lovely stuffed star fish:

I followed this pattern, but left off the face as to minimize any choking hazards.

A cutie patootie octopus:

Again, I left the eyes off this pattern as well.

Finally a big soft whale:

To give you an idea of scale, my laptop is 17 inches.  I worked this from this pattern, using the notes on this blog to decipher it, as its in Japanese.

All of these were so much fun to make and Celeste has requested one of each for herself, I think I’ll just have to get cracking on them for her Smile

Duct Tape Wallet

Yep I attempted to make a Duct Tape Wallet and it was a success it is Dragon themed of course.  It has 6 pockets for cards, bi-fold and a secret pocket as well.  It came out really cute and it was fun to make, spending time with Cheyenne.

Here are some pics.....

Ella’s Blanket

I made this almost a year ago and I’m finally getting around to sharing.  I’m a terrible blogger!

The color scheme for Ella’s room is brown and pink and her blanket started out in panels like this:

I felt no love for this pattern and ended up putting it on the back burner for months at a time until I rethought the whole thing and started over focusing much more on the pink and a more exciting pattern.

In the end, I made this blanket in three days and adored it:

Two hour scarf

I made this two hour scarf for Johns' mother, whose birthday we forgot.  I made it out of Simply Soft Chunky black and read and used a size M hook.  It only took me 2 hours and I also plan on making a Hooded Scarf for her which I am currenlty working and will showcase it when I am done.  Here are the pictures of the scarf.

Gator Pride Blankie

This was made upon the request of a friend to gift to someone else… I had a difficulty finding a way to get the colors to meld well into the kind of blanket I’m used to making.  Enter this.

Halloween 2011

So every year I make Trick or Treat Bags for the girls in my life and this is the first of 6 that I will be making.  I have chosen two different patterns a simple black bag with orange trim, a ghost and the words BOO on the bottom.  The other bag that I will be making is Frankensteins' head.  I hope that you like it.

MamboBaby's Mambo Monkey Blankie

Our lovely friend had a precious baby girl earlier this month. Her room had a jungle theme and her colors were mint green and chocolate brown, I had lots of fun with this pattern:
